Now I’m back home in the Snowy Mountains and Riverina with a fresh focus on Elopements and Small Weddings.

Fun Adventures Abroad

After a few months of adventuring, I’m back - refreshed, inspired, and ready to marry couples again!
This year took me from the history and romance of Europe to the wide-open roads of Western Australia. It was a mix of family time, exploring, and soaking in nature — and now, I’m carrying that energy into the ceremonies I create.
Rob and I started with a trip through Europe, where my son Dominic is now living (and we got to meet his gorgeous girlfriend, Viv - we love her!). Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, and Slovenia were all on the list. Slovenia was a standout for me - no surprise there, considering I have a thing for caves.

Europe was breathtaking, full of history and beauty, and then there was Dubai on the way home - we went on a desert safari that had us feeling like king and queen for a day, I came home buzzing with inspiration.

Hitting the Road in Australia
Of course, Archie (our little four-legged travel buddy) couldn’t come to Europe, but he was front and centre when we hooked up the caravan and set off across Australia for two months.

The road took us through small towns and wild landscapes - Esperance, Margaret River, Yallingup, Geraldton, Kalbarri, Wave Rock, Kalgoorlie, the Flinders Ranges, and so many in between. We skipped the big cities (not really our thing with the van in tow) and instead found magic in the quieter places.
Some Highlights? (Well, okay......just a few)
Wharton Beach, Esperance, WA - a jaw-dropping white sand beach that, in July, we basically had to ourselves. A perfect elopement spot if there ever was one.
Kalbarri National Park, WA - the Ross Graham River Walk was a reminder that even a short walk can take you somewhere extraordinary.
WildFlowers, WA - luckily, we were there for the Spring bloom in September - just delicious!
The Flinders Ranges, SA - with gorges that feel like another world.

We crossed the Nullarbor twice, dodged swarms of mozzies (the nightly ritual of “Quick, shut the door!” still makes me laugh), and yes… there may have been a spontaneous nudie run on a deserted beach at Streaky Bay, in SA.

Oh, and one cheerful grey nomad offered me a “special” brownie - which I actually ate. Let’s just say it made me smile in more ways than one!

What the Break Taught Me

Travelling reminded me how much I love the slower pace - the chance to stop, breathe, and just be in the moment. Whether it was watching a sunset over the ocean, hiking into a quiet gorge, or laughing with Rob in our little van, those pauses are what made the memories.
It also made me realise: I’m not a big-city, big-crowds kind of person. Nature, quiet spots, and meaningful connections are what light me up - and that’s exactly the kind of energy I want to bring back into my work as a relaxed elopement celebrant.

What's New?
Coming home after such a big adventure gave me clarity about how I want to work moving forward. A few things have changed, and I think they’ll make your ceremony even better:
Limited availability. I’m keeping my calendar a little lighter so every couple gets the very best of me - no running on empty, ever.
Updated fees. My prices for 2025/26 have been adjusted to reflect not just my years of experience, but the peace of mind you get knowing your ceremony is in safe hands.
Focus on elopements and small weddings. They’re meaningful, intimate, and give you space to be fully present with each other: Less stress, more magic.
It’s a massive decision to choose one person as your life partner, so giving that moment the importance it deserves - without rushing - is pretty special. That doesn’t mean it has to be stiff or formal (not my style at all). It can be calm, natural, relaxed, and still full of laughter.
In a busy life, stopping for that one big moment is when the memories are made - just like we did on our holiday.
If I had to sum myself up as a celebrant, I’d say I’m down-to-earth, organised, and real. And after a few months of living in a tiny van, I’d probably add patient to that list too. Mostly though, I’m calm, refreshed, and genuinely excited to bring that energy into your wedding day.
